Halt the Hijack™

When you become emotionally hijacked you may not be in control of your next word, your tone, or even your actions. You are overcome by the “challenge” of the moment and become negatively reactive instead of positively responsive.

You might get overwhelmed and yell at your kids. You may revert to punishments that don’t work and do nothing to change future outcomes. You may say things that you wish you didn’t, and most of all you feel worse after all of it and out of control. Add multiple generations of ADHD to the mix and it is as if the whole hijacking is supercharged. Emotional dysregulation on hyper drive.

Your ability to control your mindset in the moment shows up elsewhere in your life. The overwhelm, the worry, the catastrophic thinking. Will you ever have the calm and peace you imagine for yourself? Will you ever get through your to-do list or start and stick to any of the changes you hope for. Perhaps you are anxious or sad, restless, feel shame or guilt for not meeting your own expectations and paralysed into what feels like inaction. These are the saboteurs in you head that are so prevelant we don’t even notice they are there.

Coaching will allow you to gain insight and develop the right tools for particular challenges but conventional coaching doesn’t change your brain to alter your thinking in the moment. Most of us have not developed the mental muscle to effectively impart the change that is needed for lasting success.

You know what you want to do but you don't know how.

With mental fitness you can rewire your brain to empower yourself to respond to challenges positively and engage the insight and tools you learn through coaching. The goal is to move insight from hindset, then move this to awareness in the moment and then eventually to foresight, so we can plan to avoid more negative situations. This means building up the wiring in your brain to weaken the negative hijackers and take control in the form of responsive, positive choice. Similar to workouts at the gym that will prepare your body for strenuous physical activities, mental fitness is the key to rewiring your brain so your thoughts are serving you rather than sabotaging.

What if I told you that this level of mindset mastery was entirely possible?

What if I told you that it was possible in only 15 minutes (cummuluative) a day in 6 weeks?

Positive Intelligence ® works on the premise of neuroplasticity. It is a neurobehavioural program that develops your mental muscle to put new learning and awareness into action.

  • "I became more self aware, and was able to pause. I finally felt in control of my emotions instead of being hijacked by them."

    Elizabeth M

  • "PQ allowed me to see the saboteurs in others (even my kids) and I was able to step back and show empathy instead of reactivity.”

    Barb L

  • "PQ is perfect for my ADHD brain! I never stuck with mindfullness or meditation before because I felt I couldn't slow down enough. PQ can be short, active, slow, directed...whatever I need it to be to make it work and I can tailor it exactly to how my brain is feeling that hour, day or week. I am so thankful to Tara to have found this amazing resource."

    Emily R

  • The PQ app is so simple and effective. I feel I have a tangeable tool for when I am feeling triggered. Working on my "mental muscles" just a few minutes a day was a small enough commitment that it was actually doable. I love that it not only helped in my parenting but all other aspects of my life. This program has entirely changed how I handle stress.
